How to test sensitivity labels before rollout?
I'm about to roll out sensitivity labels in a organization.
I had planned a test phase where labels are applied to documents and mentioned in the footer, but protective mechanisms aren't enabled yet. I wanted to inform users about the upcoming restrictions via a pop-up, but this feature isn't available in the Purview Center.
Has anyone tried attaching a DLP policy to the label to achieve this?
I'm curious to know how others have handled this situation.

What I have been doing is building a test Auto-Labeling policy and using test Exchange account, a test SharePoint site with test files that it should find and ones that we think it should hit. Run it is simulation mode. After that test and tuning we change the location to what we want to scan and then run it in simulation mode again. It will show what it fond and you can review it without actually labeling anything. I then move to building my DLP policy and use it on my test accounts only before I turn it on or production. I hope this helps.

It should definitely be possible to use in that way.
You could configure DLP to inform users with Policy Tips to semi-achieve what you are after.
Just the Policy Tip, and no action. Then add the actions when your users are informed.
