Viva Amplify Setup Issues

I'm a little confused on why Viva Amplify isn't working correctly. I've assigned an account explicit M365 Groups and SP Admin roles (the accounts is already a global admin), but when I load the app it just says the account doesn't have access. I used the setup wizard to assign the roles. Is there something I'm missing?
