Text translation in Copilot is using Google translator?

How does text translation in Copilot work exactly? I have seen cases where Copilot clearly states that "According to Google Translate, the translation is: xx". 

If the text is in a language that AI model does not recognize will Copilot go out to internet and use whatever translator service it finds 😮 ??
