Copilot sidebar in Edge "unable to connect to the service"

Hello Everyone,

We are having intermittent issues with the Copilot sidebar in Edge. It works sometimes, and other times we get an error that says "We're sorry but we're unable to connect to the service at this time." It has a refresh button which doesn't help. What's weird, is that we have Copilot licenses enabled for our users and going to https://bing.com/chat works fine in all cases (and shows the user signed in and "protected" as expected).

Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions to fix this issue?

Brian

  • Yes, I am having this same issue. I have managed to get the chat to load in the side bar but the former conversations I have had will not load.

gc-bclark Looks like now is a bigger issue. I'm having the same issue. I thought it was my account, but it is not working as well in another laptop.

I thought it was something when I migrated to PRO, but looks to have no relationship.

Open Microsoft Edge browser then go to Settings > Sidebar > from there just disable Copilot. Close the browser then go the same path/settings and enable Copilot.

If the issue persist try resetting Microsoft Edge, click on Settings > Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values > Reset.
