BING API Issues with sharepoint Location Field

I Use a SharePoint Location field to enter physical address relating to a document. this has previously worked as expected and creates the required field information  as below this shows data entered prior to issues starting approximately 6 weeks ago.

 

however recently the location field no longer completes the entry of all information including the Coordinates that are required to query Bing MAPS. as below shows data entered after issues have started.

Microsoft premier support tells me this is a BING API Issue.

can someone tell me what might be causing this issues

    Sharepoint Support calls the Bing Maps APIs so you do need to start with sharepoint. If you have a firewall blocking VirtualEarth or Bing domain REST API calls that might cause something like this
