WVD SessionHost: Upgrade Failed, EventViewer: SxsStack listener is not ready. Unable to connect.

SessionHost unhealthy: SxsStack listener is not ready
WVD spring update. We need Win2k12R2 as session host. I created the VM using New-AzVM using the proper image and the VM got created successfully on my existing network and the proper extensions installed.

 

Then i followed the two steps in the below article to install RD Agent and Bootloader and the session host showed up under my host pool in WVD:

But under session host, it shows the status as "Upgrade failed". also there are continous events coming in the event log saying that sessionhost unhealthy: sxslistener is not ready, i have attached the screenshots as well.

 

I'll really appreciate any help.

    Sorted this out.

    With windows server, you need to have RDSH role installed. also with windows 2k12, you need to have WMF 5.1 or greater installer, and .net runtime >= 4.8. once this is done, it works fine.
