WVD hybrid deployment with AD+AAD, is AAD Premium (P1 or P2) required?

I used to deploy WVD with AAD+AADDS solution without luck because the session host VM extensions always failed.    After I changed AAD from free to P2, it went through.  

 

I was wondering if AAD Premium required?  Or simply just AAD BASIC free tier should be enough for WVD?

    JERRYLI : Unfortunately, this is the first that we've heard of Azure AD Basic tier breaking the experience. In general, we do not have a requirement on the Azure AD tier you have, since we only care about the Azure AD users themselves and domain-join machines.

     

    Perhaps there might be something with Azure AD DS in regards to Azure AD Basic tier.
