Windows 11 24H2 - Explorer constantly crashing and restarting

I found this discussion (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/azurevirtualdesktopforum/wvd-issue--explorer-constantly-crashing-and-restarting/1522521/ - sorry, tried to insert a hyperlink but it's telling me the HTML tags are invalid) from way back in 2020 that seems similar to my issue, but I'm only seeing it on our new Win 11 24H2 hosts. It is happening on both our GPU and non-GPU hosts. It seems to only occur when logging in with the local admin account. We mostly use Remote Apps, so if this was happening to our domain users, they wouldn't necessarily notice it unless it caused background performance issues.

The solution in the above discussion was to restart the Windows Search service. This does not resolve the issue in our environment - the only method I have found to work is restarting the host and hoping the issue doesn't return at the next logon.

Has anyone else seen this issue? Any recommendations? Thanks!

    Hi,
Sounds like you're encountering a similar issue tothe one you posted, though it’s specific to your new Win 11 24H2 hosts and only happens with the local admin account. Since restarting the Windows Search service didn’t resolve it, and the issue persists until the host is rebooted, it seems to me taht it's likely a deeper system or configuration problem. It might be worth checking for any relevant updates, logs, or specific settings tied to your environment to see if there’s a pattern.. Hopefully, others here can share any similar experiences or fixes to this specific one.
