Virtual Channel Support for Windows Virtual Desktop

Hi, 

 

Are Virtual Channels (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/termserv/terminal-services-virtual-channels) or a similar mechanism available as they are for Remote Desktop Services? 

 

If they are would someone be able to point me to the relevant documentation?

    Yes, Virtual Channel should work fine with WVD in the same way as RDS. You can refer to the same documentation.

      Hi DavidBelanger, we have a working Virtual Channel that we use with Remote Desktop Services and the Remote Desktop Connection client (RDC)  - mstsc.exe.

       

      However when we connect to Windows Virtual Desktop using (msrdc.exe) our Virtual Channel is not loaded on the client side.

       

      Is there a different way to register Virtual Channels for use with the MSRDC.exe client? If not is there any logging we can enable to see why our client component is not being loaded?

        It looks like this was something to do with the environment as the Virtual Channel has worked after our customer changed some settings. We're now trying to determine which settings affected this.
