    1. Check AVD Host VM Status:
      • Ensure that the AVD host VM is running and accessible. Verify if it's powered on in the Azure Portal under Virtual Machines.
    2. Network Connectivity:
      • Verify that your client machine has access to the Virtual Network (VNet) where the AVD host is deployed.
      • Ensure there are no network issues like firewalls or VPN disconnections that could block access to the AVD VM.
    3. Verify RDP Settings:
      • The AVD uses RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) to connect to the host VM. Verify that the RDP port (TCP 3389) is open on the host VM’s network security group (NSG) or firewall.
      • If using Azure Firewall or Network Security Groups, ensure that RDP traffic is allowed.
    4. Check AVD Diagnostic Logs:
      • Go to Azure Portal > Azure Virtual Desktop and review the diagnostic logs for any issues related to connectivity.
      • Look at the Host Pool and check if there are any alerts or failures shown in the logs.
    5. Review User Permissions:
      • Ensure that the user attempting the connection has the necessary Azure AD roles assigned for accessing the AVD session host.
      • The user should be part of a user group that has been assigned to the host pool.
    6. Session Host Health:
      • Check the health of the session host to confirm that there are no performance or configuration issues.
      • You can do this by going to Azure Virtual Desktop > Host Pools > Session Hosts and checking the status.
    7. AVD Agent & RDP Settings on Host:
      • Ensure that the AVD agent is running on the VM. Sometimes, the AVD agent may have failed or requires an update.
      • In the host VM, check the RDP settings to ensure it's configured to accept RDP connections.
    8. Review AVD Configuration:
      • Verify that the host pool and application groups are properly configured and have not been accidentally modified.
      • If you recently updated any settings, check for misconfigurations.
    9. Clear RDP Cache:
      • On your local machine, clear the RDP cache (for example, in Windows, you can clear the RDP connection history via the Remote Desktop Client settings).
    10. Reset the AVD VM:
      • If nothing works, you can try rebooting the AVD host VM or even redeploying the session host, as it can sometimes fix issues with the VM or connection.

    Additional Troubleshooting:

    • If you're using the Azure Virtual Desktop client, ensure it's updated to the latest version.
    • Check for any issues with the Azure AD or Azure subscription, such as expired access or permission changes.
