OUTLOOK Reverts to Classic every 24 hrs AVD
Below some recommendations for your situation:
Outlook Reverting to Classic Mode
- Check Default Settings: Ensure that the "New Outlook" is set as the default application for all users. Sometimes, group policies or user settings can revert to the older version.
- Profile Corruption: A corrupted user profile might cause Outlook to revert. Try creating a new user profile and see if the issue persists.
- Registry Settings: Verify registry settings related to Outlook. Incorrect configurations might lead to reversion.
- Update Outlook: Ensure that all users are running the latest version of Outlook. Updates often fix bugs and inconsistencies.
Reauthentication Every 24 Hours
- Session Lifetime Policies: Configure session lifetime policies in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). You can set sign-in frequency and persistent browser sessions to reduce reauthentication prompts.
- Conditional Access Policies: Use Conditional Access to enforce adaptive session lifetimes. This can help balance security and user convenience.
- Token Expiry: Check if token expiry settings are causing frequent reauthentication. Adjust these settings in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
- Network Issues: Ensure that there are no network interruptions or proxy settings that might be causing authentication failures.
Thanks for posting a comment... For Outlook issue - I myself had not had the roll back happen for me until now...today i login and it is gone. The Default App settings was left with a Outlook now a (Blank icon) I reinstalled and the icon returned in the defaults apps...so it was selected...Update outlook? - there is no spot to update outlook (new) as this just happens automagically now - no control... Registry setting i am reviewing, if there is anything i should be targeting i would love the suggestions. Profile corruption...i am gonna rule this out or not pursue this just yet - because it is happening to way to many new users plus. and there is no indication in Event Logs to suggest this. The reauthentication issue - i have setup a CA rule to see if that helps - this may also help with another Dynamics Sales (CRM) issue with have with every 24 hours requiring a login...so thanks for that...
