Machine-Wide Teams - White screen and crashing often
- May 04, 2023
our Teams issue got fixed after re-deploying all Win10 AVD hosts in the Host pool from the gold template (we use Nerdio). Our FSlogix was a bit behind and I also installed the latest version 2.9.8440.42104. I doubt FSlogix was the root cause.
Update for you. None of these actions worked.
Still having Teams go white and edge crashing intermittently this afternoon.
So that's...
New clean image all software up to date. AVD client up to date, v4 machine instead of v5, AMD instead of Intel CPU, temp storage for pagefile, deleting all teams and edge cache, GPU or no GPU, disable hardware if available settings or not.
Same issue 😞
Forget my initial goal of Teams telephony deployment! we are even struggling to even get through a day at the moment without apps crashing all over the shop.
I'll take any suggestions at this point, left field is fine. happy to try.

PaulStirling very interesting reading. We have two SH D8asv4 and have been having the same symptoms, Teams white screen and Edge/Chrome crashing.
There is a system managed page file but perhaps this needs to be manually set. At the moment with 12 users on each the page file is 9GB on the 64GB temp disk. Any suggestions?

Hi guys,
Think we have struck 'gold' here with the VM sizing, specifically RAM, Temp drive and pagefile.
We used Standard D16s v5 for the past year and thanks to all suggestions on here we have settled on Standard D16ads v5 which has same RAM, AMD cpu instead of Intel, but more importantly a 600gb TEMP storage which holds a the pagefile, this seems to be the silver bullet.
We did not have issues for the past two days which is unheard of. My assessment throughout this process is the RAM is getting over utilized (despite showing plenty 'free',) and over the course of the day starts to crash RAM hungry apps like Teams and Edge.
The advent of a pagefile to support the RAM allocation must means the risk of crash is greatly reduced.
Still wanting to assess the 'fix' over the coming weeks, but for now it seems to be sound logic and proof is in the pudding.
