Same issue running on Windows Server 2016 with version
RemoteDesktop_1.2.6188.0_x64.msi
RemoteDesktop_1.2.6228.0_x64.msi
Works ok with the older version:
RemoteDesktop_1.2.6081.0_x64.msi
