What happens if item pending disposition review is deleted

Does anyone know what happens if a document pending disposition review is deleted by the user? E.g. DocumentX.docx is pending approval in disposition review stage. If a user removes the retention and disposal label from this document and then in turn deletes it, what is the impact on disposition review. Does it auto disappear from there?

An item reaches disposition review when it has been deleted by the user, and the purpose of the disposition review is to give the organization one last chance to review the item before it is permanently deleted. So when it reaches this final state, the user had already deleted it, so it wouldn't disappear from disposition review.

Thanks Joe...I believe that is not totally correct. As an item gets to disposition review when the retention period, defined for label applied to the item, has expired.
