Unable to have labels applied based on custom created classification rules (SITs)
In MS Purview, it appears that you are unable to have labels applied based on custom created classification rules (SITs). You are limited to just the out of the box SITs/Classifiers).
Does anybody know of a way around this?
Is MS addressing this in a future release?
- WelkasWorldBrass ContributorHi,
It is possible for both the server side and client side auto labelling to apply a label based on a custom SIT.
When creating an auto-labelling policy for example, on the first page of the wizard select custom category and custom policy under regulations. Then once you get to your policy rule step, you can add a condition > content contains > sensitive information type and your custom SITs should also appear on the list.
Hope this helps.- Joseph-BerbaryCopper Contributor
Additionally, auto-labeling is an E5 feature, so ensure your users are licensed the Microsoft 365 E5.
