Linking between custom tables and PowerBi datasets

To complete the lineage we need to connect the tables of the custom source with the PowerBI dataset.
Via UI it is possible to connect the custom table to the PowerBI report but not to the dataset. The only lineage (table <-> PBI dataset) that we were able to connect was via API using a Process as an intermediate
