Unable to edit SQL Server Configuration in Azure VM
Hi,
When trying to edit a SQL VM in Azure i am getting the following:
"There was a problem getting the status of SQL Server on the VM. Please try again after a few minutes."
This has been doing this since yesterday. How can I get to the SQL Server Configuration Information?

Trouble shooting an SQL installation has its challenges in this type of forum.
but i have a few questions.
- What change are you trying to make and is it from the Azure portal ?
- Is the the Azure agent running ?
- Benjamin KrinskyCopper ContributorI too am having this issue with SQL Server 2014 on a Windows Server 2012 Azure vm.
In Configuration Manager, when I click on Services, it says running, but when I right click on the SQL Server instance and select properties, it says the Service status is Stopped. So when I click Start, then OK, the properties tab disappears and now the instance state says Stopped.
I tried right clicking -> properties, and starting the service again. In the properties dialog the Service status says Running, but I noticed the Apply button is always grayed-out, and once again after clicking OK the State is still Stopped.
Is there a fix for this? - IT SupportCopper ContributorAny ideas on this guys? I need to get backups setup but I cant go to the settings. I also cant log a ticket with support as its classed as "paid for support". Accordingly? Thanks.
- Kent GaardmandIron Contributora quick fix could possibly be to delete the VM and recreate is from the VHD
