A practical mental model is: identity with Microsoft Entra ID, compute with App Service/Functions/Container Apps/VMs, data with Azure SQL/Cosmos DB/Storage, networking with VNets/Application Gateway/Private Link, operations with Monitor/Log Analytics, and security/governance with Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Policy, and RBAC.
