The fabric elements are not synced to Azure Site Recovery

For testing purposes i'm setting up Azure Site Recovery. It was working before but i had to remove it and now i'm trying to rebuild it using the same Hyper-V server. However i'm running into issues in the step 'Prepare Infrastructure'.

The site is created and the software is installed on the Hyper-V server, the Hyper-V host is visible in in step 2. However when i click the 'OK' button it shows me the error message:

The fabric elements are not synced to Azure Site Recovery. Make sure servers are in a connected state.

I've followed the steps as described in this link to perform a thorough cleanup: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/site-recovery-manage-registration-and-protection. Also removed the Azure Site Recovery vault and created a new one, no luck

If i manually add the server it shows a connected state, but still it shows an error message in 'prepare the infrastructue'.

I've waited for a couple of hours, check the eventlogs on the server but nothing to be found.
