Azure write back number of security sign in questions.

Hi

I enabled SSPR 24 hours ago and checked the box security questions an hour ago. In my test accounts, I don't get prompt for any security questions. I only get prompted for i forgot password and verification steps. Do the security questions policy take a couple hours to apply?

  • Hello,

From the menu on the left side of the Registration page, select Yes for Require users to register when signing in.

  • Considering this, it’s possible that the security questions policy for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) hasn’t fully propagated yet:

    1. Policy Propagation Time:
      • Changes to SSPR policies, including enabling security questions, can take some time to apply across your tenant. While it usually happens within a few hours, it might take up to 24 hours in some cases.
    2. User Registration:
      • Ensure that the test accounts have completed the SSPR registration process. Users need to register their security questions in the SSPR registration portal (https://aka.ms/ssprsetup) before they can be prompted for them during password reset.
    3. Policy Configuration:
      • Double-check the configuration in the Azure AD Admin Center to ensure that security questions are properly enabled and assigned to the correct user group.
