Good lesson. Lean infrastructure works best when the team is disciplined about observability and change management.
For Azure workloads, I would focus on a few practical controls: automated deployments, rollback paths, autoscale rules based on real demand signals, budget alerts, and dashboard coverage for latency, errors, saturation, and dependency health. That lets a small infrastructure footprint stay reliable without over-provisioning everything.
The biggest trap is mistaking lean for under-instrumented. If you run close to the edge on capacity or cost, you need better signals, not fewer.
