Zoom Data Integration to Viva Insights

Dear all,

We have a client and they are using .Zoom in most departments and few departments use Teams for meetings and collaboration. Would it be feasible for this client to use Viva insights or upload Zoom data to leverage and use Workplace analytics reports/insights?

Thanks in advance,

Esra

  • Hi VI_Migration, good question. There is a Zoom Integration that has recently been released. This documentation shows you all the steps you need to set it up: Workplace Analytics Zoom integration | Microsoft Docs

The Zoom Integration is not built in to Viva Insights like collaboration signals from Microsoft Teams is but it is not difficult to set up the integration. I would recommend to the client that they would get a lot of value out of setting up this integration and explain it is definitely feasible.

Jake_Caddes Dear Jake thank you for your support. I believe, although it is easy to set up the integration, they wouldn't benefit from viva insights by just using outlook and skype. Because they  don't use teams. Would you agree on that?

Hi VI_Migration, I do believe there is a lot of value that comes from Viva Insights from Outlook signals alone. What is analyzed from Outlook signals includes email collaboration, meeting collaboration (given the company has their calendars synced via Outlook) and all of that data is aggregated and de-identified. Sure, they would be missing Teams signals but that is really only 1/3 of the value add of Viva Insights. Outlook is really the main driver of collaboration for a lot of organizations. This decision should be up to you and your client, but I believe there would still be a lot of valuable insights available without Teams signals.
