Is it possible to segment insights to individual departments, within a company?
Hi,
Is it possible to segment insights to individual departments, within a company? E.g., The sales manager is not interested in how the accounting team is working.
How can I create this type of segmentation?
Second scenario; a director wants his entire team to have insights but wants to separate this based on each manager under her/him. However, s/he wants to have “Leader’s” insight into the entire team.
How can I create this type of segmentation?
Thank you for your help.
Hi VI_Migration, yes it is possible to segment insights to individual departments. This can be done by running any PBI reports or creating queries and filtering for a specific team.
If you are referring to manager insights for your example of the sales manager not caring about accounting insights then you don't need to worry. Managers only get insights about their team (direct and indirect reports) so by design these insights are filtered to relevant team members.
Leader insights give leadership insights into the entire organization. They can also use manager insights because manager insights gives insights for both direct and indirect reports. In your example scenario, a leader would be able to see insights for each of their managers' teams as well as all reports at once.
I recommend learning more about these different ways of analysis by reading through these documents.
