How long is the lag between when the data is refreshed and the collaboration data

Hi folks

I may be demoted as "superuser" for asking this but I'm noticing for some time now that my data is two weeks old despite auto-refresh switched on and my PowerBIs getting refreshed weekly or even ad hoc

What I mean is, as am posting this it's Dec 9 13:20 CET time and the most recent collaboration data I have is Nov 28

I would have expected Dec 5 as that is when my last refresh was run

Went into PowerBI and ran an ad hoc refresh just in case but didn't refresh any further

I remember this was not the case a while ago. Is it the expectation that there's a two weeks lag now? In normal situations this is bearable but when we get urgent requests it's a hard one to sell that you have to wait for two more Mondays to get the data

Thanks

  • Hi VI_Migration, good question. I have a couple of follow up questions:

    1. How many queries does your organization have on auto-refresh? An organization can have a maximum of 20 queries on auto-refresh.

    2. Are these queries on a custom time range? Auto-refresh is only possible for queries with a predefined time range from the time period list.

Please reference this documentation: Query auto-refresh in Workplace Analytics | Microsoft Docs

Thanks Oliver. Yes, I've seen this for the last 4-5 months or so

I just refreshed the Ways of Working Assessment PBI and data is still from 28 Nov despite the notifications state that data was refreshed yesterday

We have noticed a similiar trend in our tenant. We have a couple of queries that do not update properly. This may be a little bit bigger than a bug. I have noticed this happening more in the last 3 to 6 months than it has in the 2 years prior. If I notice the same issue I saw this past monday Jake_Caddes then I will reach out with tenant information.

Jake_Caddes We are getting some odd behaviors in our query updates.

First, we have a query called "PDE ME Dashboard - 4" that is set to refreshing that hasn't updated in 3 or 4 weeks now.

Second, we a person to group query called "DIWS LIFT - INT2" that was originally created by me that has changed authors, which is why I haven't seen it update...I have never seen this happen and now it is listed under o365organalyticsprod

I tried sending the tenant info in a message and had it give an error message that I reached my limit on messages in a day. Feel free to email me at mailto:oliver.s.beard@cummins.com

Hey Jake. Thanks for the documentation, I'll read through

Re #1, I have 18 queries on auto-refresh. I definitely need to do some housekeeping as some are not needed anymore

Re #2, they are set for last 6 months

This may be a bug - I can submit a ticket to engineering if you send me your tenant information in a private message.
