PC sometimes freezes with a black screen ?

Sometimes, when I return to my PC and it's gone into screensaver mode, instead of a mouse click bringing the screen up, the PC is frozen with a black screen.

Nothing affects it - clicking, alt-tab, ctrl-alt-delete, etc.

If I come back 'in a while' - maybe a half, hour or a couple hours - it will function again.

Just now, when I it happened and I came back after a while, it had the login screen wanting a password, I entered it and it had my desktop, with my notepads still open, but other programs closed.

What might cause this and can it be a fixed?

Your freeze on screensaver activation is likely tied to graphics driver issues or power settings. Updating drivers, adjusting power options, and ensuring system stability usually resolve this. If problems persist, hardware diagnostics or professional help might be necessary.

Your black screen freezes during screensaver or inactivity are most likely related to graphics driver issues or power settings. Start by updating your graphics drivers, adjusting power options, and monitoring temperatures. If problems persist, hardware diagnostics may be necessary.

Your PC freeze with black screen might be due to graphics driver issues or power settings. Updating drivers, adjusting power options, and ensuring Windows is up to date often resolve these problems. If not, hardware checks are warranted.
