Ace Aviator of the Month
November's Ace Aviator: Sabahat Faria
What is your role and title? What are your responsibilities associated with your position?
I work as an azure integration services developer and consultant. My major role is to solve client’s integration needs by implementing and designing azure-based solutions. Am also responsible for collaborating across different teams for designing a complete solution that meets client’s requirements.
Can you provide some insights into your day-to-day activities and what a typical day in your role looks like?
My regular day starts with reviewing my to-do list and prioritizing tasks. In the morning, I respond to emails and connect with my team to set the day’s targets. I work with clients to resolve their queries and design solutions to meet their requirements. As an integration developer, I frequently communicate with developers from both systems to understand their structures and ensure smooth integration. Throughout the day, I also participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to discuss ongoing projects and potential improvements, document integration processes and solutions, conduct testing and debugging to ensure integrations function correctly. Additionally, I dedicate time to learning about new advancements and studying Microsoft’s learning paths.
What motivates and inspires you to be an active member of the Aviators/Microsoft community?
I aim to create a collaborative environment where we can learn from each other’s problems and make knowledge sharing a norm. The idea of a community where members help each other and promote collective problem-solving inspires me. This motivates me to contribute actively and encourage others to add their part to the community.
Looking back, what advice do you wish you would have been told earlier on that you would give to individuals looking to become involved in STEM/technology?
Looking back, I wish I had been told about the importance of embracing failures in the early stages of learning. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and take the time you need to complete tasks, as it’s not about the “time” you require but the end result and the learning you gain.
What advice would you give to someone new to the community looking to grow their career in STEM?
Always stay updated! No matter how cliché it sounds, the habit of staying informed and continuously learning and polishing the skills required in the market is key to growth. I would also suggest working strongly on your soft skills and attitude towards work, as these go a long way in your career.
Imagine you had a magic wand that could create a feature in Logic Apps. What would this feature be and why?
I would create an AI based test data generator, it would create sample data to stimulate real world scenarios to test the workflows more efficiently and avoid using sensitive data for testing.
