Windows Pro, BIOS, licensing
I have a business PC that's on Windows 10 Pro. We are putting a new NVMe drive into it and want to put Win 11 Pro onto it. No matter what we do Win 11 won't give the choice to put Pro onto it then activate the Pro key. Thought we'd be clever and put a fresh copy of Win 10 Pro onto it then upgrade to Win 11 Pro. Same deal. The Win 10 ISO no longer gives us the option to choose versions. Instead it simply throws and activated Home version onto it. We put the Pro key that we extracted from the working Win 10 Pro NVMe drive but it never switches to Win 10 Pro on the new NVMe drive. How do we get around this? I haven't found anything that works.pabloh11Sep 15, 2025Copper Contributor50Views0likes2CommentsExpired licensing - Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 deployment lab kit

Hi there, I have enabled client-side auto Sensitivity labelling for emails in a tenant for PII detection using pre-built SIT & Trainable Classifiers. However, the issue is that the Email signature automatically makes the check true and applies the label automatically, which I want to avoid. Is there a way for me to exclude the signature part of the email from being excluded? LikefhgjkghkhjFeb 17, 2025Copper Contributor34Views0likes0CommentsInconsistent Errors using Install-Language
I'm working on a setup script to configure a new W11 installation, and among its tasks is to install en-CA. This was working fine up until recently, when I started getting errors back from the cmdlet... the occurrence of the issue as well as the particular error codes returned are not consistent. Funny thing, I was actually having similar issues way back when I first started the script. Installing the language would fail 100% of the time, and after some time I found it seemed related specifically to the feature version and base language I was using (24H2 en-GB). I think so, at least, since it's my only explanation. Problem magically disappeared one day, bug presumably patched. But now, it's happening again. The cmdlet returns "Language pack or features could only be partially installed. Please try again." with varying error codes, and only sometimes... looking up the HRESULTs doesn't give useful information, and checking the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool and CBS logs only gives the info "install state superseded"... superseded by what, I ask! Naturally, I don't feel comfortable deploying the script when one of its major tasks has a seemingly random chance to fail, but I'm a bit lost on how to go about this. Anyone know what the deal here might be? I'm running in a VM on, as mentioned, W11 24H2 en-GB. Command is Install-Language en-CA -AsJob (parallelizing to save time). Issue started happening a few days ago with no changes to the VM or script, and persisted on a brand new VM.AdreKisequeFeb 01, 2025Copper Contributor581Views1like3CommentsMDT - Getting LapsAdmin User - Apps not getting installed
Hi, Thank you in advance for your help. If I don't join the computer to the domain, it uses local Administrator account and installs all the apps (office, adobe, etc.) correctly. Once I use the domain settings (highlighted below) it will join the domain, boots up into login screen using "LAPSAdmin" user displays "password incorrect" error, and none of the apps get installed. Some VL licensed Windows editions require a pre-existing "Qualifying desktop OS", which must be one of the consumer-grade editions. Question to VL experts is if that "Qualifying desktop OS" can take the form of a paper only license kept on file and reserved for filling that role . The scenarios considered are new virtual machines and clean OS install on physical hardware (which may or may not have an irrelevant OEM key in BIOS). Because installing and immediately wiping an OS image of lower quality/value on each machine would be an obvious waste of time . Also, when the VL licensed OS is an LTSC edition dated at least 1 month before install, automatic consumer grade updates to latest consumer channel version could make installing the chosen LTSC edition technically a "version downgrade in place" which tends to not work (at least for past Windows versions).MSUser_since_1980sDec 02, 2024Copper Contributor22Views0likes0Comments
