Surface Pro 7 & 8 Suddenly Not Loading Certain Websites and Apps
I moved to a new house and have all the same routers and services. After being here almost 2 weeks, both my Surface Pro 7 & Surface Pro 8 suddenly quit loading certain websites and apps. First noticed Twitter, then Amazon, speed test sites, etc on my Pro 8. Any app that requires internet access won't load. The device always shows that the device is connected to the internet. My email, calendar and some other sites load fine. I went through every diagnostic with a MS agent online and he finally gave up and considered it a hardware issue. The device was under warranty and so I shipped it in for service. I have a Pro 7 also, so I just began to use it. It was fine for about a day, then the same thing started happening. We have changed DNS services, gone through Surface Diagnostic Tool, updated, etc. Every other device in the house is working fine but the Surface devices. I finally got the idea to tether to my phone...and everything works!! So, if I get off of the internet in the house (which it has worked flawlessly with for 2 1/2 yrs) and tether to an outside source, it works fine. It has to be something peculiar to Surface devices. Anyone have any ideas?Scomom55Dec 06, 2024Copper Contributor39Views0likes2CommentsSurface Dock 2 stopped recognizing external displays
Hey everyone, I've had a Surface Pro 9 with a Surface Dock 2 for a couple of months now with 2 Dell U2723QE monitors connected via USB C. This setup was working great up until this morning where the 2 displays suddenly stopped working. After some messing around, I was able to narrow it down to an issue with the dock because if I connect the monitors to the surface directly they work fine again. I went through the suggestions on this Microsoft troubleshooting site, tried updating drivers on the graphics card and dock, doing all Windows updates and clearing the display cache, but haven't had any luck yet. It could just be a bad dock I suppose and I need to get a warranty claim setup, but it just seems strange that it happened so suddenly. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, they'd be super appreciated. Thanks!EricS520Oct 05, 2024Copper Contributor123Views0likes0CommentsSurface 5 needs a specific domain e-mail to be used.
I customer brought in a Microsoft surface 5 laptop that had no operating system. I could not install windows 10 or 11. Then I found out from one of the microsoft community that this laptop lags the basic in-built system. So I downloaded and made a bootable USB. I brought it to factory setting level. Then login wanted a non-personal e-mail address. So I created a registered a domain name and e-mail. Now the login says it is not the specific domain name. My client bought 3 such laptops in an auction. These laptops were sold to a particular organization. So it expecting to use a particular doamin name in username e-mail. How do I find as to what that should be? All help will be appreciated.akbar1045Jun 01, 2024Copper Contributor193Views0likes0CommentsCan’t get warranty support from MS
I have a Surface Pro that has a bad touch screen and is still under warranty. I called the support number and must provide a serial number. At that point the system says it “may be out of warranty” and to go to “surface.com/support.” I have gone to that site and filled out the form, but no response. I keep trying to call, but I never get to anyone. I am extremely frustrated that I have a MS device, purchased directly from MS, and can’t get a warranty repair started! Like many of you, I use this daily and need it working. Can anyone please direct me what can be done? Thank you.Wynand2125Mar 13, 2024Copper Contributor219Views0likes0CommentsSurface pro 5 charging port
I have a Microsoft surface pro 5. It was charging fine but then it's stopped. I figured this was because of smart charging activating but then the battery drained and it took a whole day to charge again but after it stopped charging yet again it's been a while not still not charging. I checked the charging port and found two pins are bent towards the inside. My question is can it still charge if the remaining 10 pin are fine and in contact with the magnetic charger or do I have to replace the portJruitha_30Jan 02, 2024Copper Contributor344Views0likes0CommentsSurface "3" compatible keyboards
I just purchased a Surface 3 and I'm trying to find a Bluetooth keyboard / TouchPad for it that is magnetic. I do not want a keyboard that connects using the Pogo pins! When searching online there are countless keyboards for the Surface pro 3/4/5.... that are Bluetooth (non pogo pin). But I cannot find anything that says it's compatible with the "Surface 3"... Does anybody know if any of these keyboards will attached to my Surface 3 slot?bigjoncoopOct 23, 2023Copper Contributor510Views0likes0CommentsSSD change with higher space

My Surface has lost the ability of printing in colour. It shows colours on the screen, but when i am printing, then it turns out black/grey. It has nothing to do with the printers, my wife use a Thinkpad and has no problems with colour printing. Appreciate comments and help.
