Password Auto Fill has stopped working on some webpages
Yesterday everything was fine, but today, 10/1/25, the password and username autofill in the Edge wallet is no longer working on some webpages. No changes have been made to the Edge settings - ask to save password, and autofill password are still set, and the wallet contains the correct login information. But some of my frequently visited sites (mostly financial in nature) will not auto fill the login. Out of about 30 different webpages that I checked, 6 of them are not doing the auto fill. For example, my Citi ThankYou Mastercard and my US Bank Visa pages will not autofill. (They did yesterday!) But my Amazon Visa and AT&T Mastercard are still doing the normal auto fill for logging in. Directly typing the login from the keyboard still works, so I know that the passwords are correct. I have deleted cookies and web page cache. I have rebooted and double and triple checked the wallet settings, with no luck. I'm running the latest version of Edge on a Windows 11 machine. I don't know if there was any automatic update done between yesterday and today. An internet search has shown this issue being posted a few times in the past, but I didn't find either a clear cause or a fix that I haven't already tried. It seems strange that this happened on multiple webpages on the first day of the month. Did some new internet security protocol kick in?
[Wayland] PWAs no longer appear as separate app windows — all group under main Edge icon
Hi, Since around 2025-09-07 to 2025-09-10, I’ve noticed that on GNOME (Wayland) all installed PWAs (even across different profiles) now appear grouped under the main Edge browser icon in the GNOME Shell dash/taskbar. Previously, each PWA would open in its own window group with its own icon. This is still the behavior in Chromium/Brave/Chrome, and can be restored there by editing the PWA’s .desktop file to set: StartupWMClass=<same value as Icon> However, Edge now seems to ignore StartupWMClass completely on Wayland, breaking workspace separation and making task switching hard. Environment: Ubuntu 25.04 GNOME 48.0 / Mutter (Wayland) Kernel 6.14.0-29 Intel Iris Xe GPU Edge (latest stable, observed post 2025-09-13) Repro steps: Install any PWA (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Spotify) from Edge Launch it (from any profile) Observe that it appears grouped under the main Edge browser icon Expected: PWA shows under its own icon and window group like in Chromium-based browsers Actual: All PWAs are bundled into the main Edge window group Editing StartupWMClass in the .desktop file no longer helps This regression makes PWAs much harder to manage on Wayland. Please route to the Linux/Wayland team if possible. Thanks!
Can't see tabs from other devices on Edge Android on Tablet
I'm having difficulty finding open tabs from other devices on my Edge installed on an Android Tablet. On my smartphone, to see the synchronized tabs, I need to click on the tab viewer, click on 'recent' and both the tabs that I recently closed and the tabs opened from other devices will appear. However, on my Tablet it's different. There is no button for the tab viewer and I had to dig around on Reddit and discover that there is a hidden feature for this: Swiping down the area where the back and forward buttons are, in the top left. However, when I click on 'recent', only the open tabs appear. Neither recently closed tabs nor tabs from other devices appear. Is this some bug or am I doing it wrong?Cast button in toolbar doesn't work anymore
I'm on a Windows 10 tablet and since a few weeks in all my 3 installations (Stable, Dev 141.0.3500.1 , Canary 141.0.3518.0) the cast button in the toolbar doesn't work anymore. Only option I have now to initiate casting is with: Menu-Button => More Tools => Cast Media, which is quite annoying. Could someone from the developer team please take a look into that? Hello, I have been having this issue with a lot of websites with edge lately, at least for a few months. I've tried, resetting to default settings, reinstalling edge, and deleting cookies and cache and this error occurs. It happens a lot of with youtube where I get buggy comments like in the photo with the loading circle and then a lot of comments won't load past a certain point. It's driving me crazy and I'm afraid of having to switch browsers soon, I'm hoping somebody maybe knows what's going on and can assist. I tried it without extensions, same result as well. For other websites sometimes it doesn't load and I have to fully refresh the page like reddit. When this loading glitch happens with youtube, I have to make a new tab then it fixes itself but bugs out after a few videos again.
Microsoft Edge - Screenshots of Edge on displays with HDR enabled
When taking a screenshot of an Edge window showing SDR content on a display with HDR enabled, the entire Edge window becomes massively washed out. This happens with snipping tool 11.2310.54.0 as well as win+shift+S. Moving the Edge window to a non-HDR display and taking the screenshot there works fine. All other desktop apps, even when visible in the same screenshot, operate just fine. It appears to be Edge specifically that is not screenshotting correctly.

Cast button in toolbar doesn't work anymore I'm on a Windows 10 Microsoft Edge is up to date. Version 140.0.3485.81 (Official build) (64-bit) and cast button in the toolbar doesn't work anymore + button pinned to the bar won't go away anymore. I recently upgraded to version140.0.3485.14 (Official build) beta (64-bit) and noticed that my PWA, even if they open correctly in a independent window, don't show the "running window counter" on the taskbar. So, for example, if a open Outlook, the window open and loads the app, but if a I click the icon again, it opens another window, wich is a little annoying. I tried removing the PWA from Edge, rebooting, and installing again, but didn't work. Because the only change I made is updating Edge, I think is related to this build. (too lazy to go back or install the stable release)

I can’t log in to my outlook account while connected to my home network, which has the default configurations from my Mexican ISP. I already tried multiple devices connected to the same network. I need to use my cellular data instead., which allows me to log in correctly. I’m not using a vpn or anything like that and it’s been happening since a couple of months ago. This is the message I’m getting: “please retry with a different device or other authentication method to sign in”
How to open office files in Edge browser without downloading
Hi. In December I asked Microsoft support about possibility to open office files in Edge without downloading. It was working on some webpages but on the other not. That is answer from support: " The configuration of Office files to open from email or work/school portals is under the development and enterprise support teams, but they are still considered a work in progress since there are sources that still require you to download the Office files before they can be opened and may require other policies to be deployed. " Now I'm looking for some information if there was any progress in this case. For me it is still working that same but maybe in new versions there are some additional settings which are enabling that feature also in intranet or in mailboxes.
Unable to load workspaces
I have never been able to use Edge Workspaces on my main personal profile. I have already performed the following troubleshooting steps: Logged out and back in with my profile Downloaded Edge Canary and signed in there, but it doesn’t work on Canary either Cleared cache and cookies Reset Edge Resynced Reset sync data Checked that there is no “workspaces” folder in OneDrive I think the issue is clearly related to my account, because on my work account it all works perfectly. I am attaching the error log. How can I resolve this, if there is no way to reach assistance for personal free users? Benefits: Enhances productivity by keeping messaging apps always accessible. Allows quick, lightweight access to key apps without the need to switch between browser tabs. Improves the user experience for multitasking and communication on the desktop. Request: Please consider adding the detachable sidebar feature back to Microsoft Edge for Windows 11. It would greatly enhance usability for those of us who use messaging apps and want to manage them efficiently without the need for a full browser window.
