I'm probably too late, but here are my thoughts:
A. "Windows App" as a name on non-windows platforms is OK. But on Windows in the Windows Store?!? Is the intent to exploit customer confusion on (checks notes) your *primary platform* to drive support sales? If not, then I do not understand this name choice.
B. Please don't make me reset all of my machines' settings like some "upgrades" have done in the past. I realize it may be harder to migrate settings than to just wipe them clean and have the end users redo it, but please migrate them.
C. I currently have/use an old Intel iMac running Monterey. Please don't have this upgrade make it incompatible. Please. I use this. If you cannot do that, then please do not force the upgrade. I have other solutions, but pushing me further away from your platform is counterproductive--for both of us.
Finally, some alternative name suggestions:
- Remote Desktop Client (hey, maybe make it work with other remote desktop servers, too!)
- Windows Remote Client
- Windows Desktop Client
- Windows 365 Desktop
- Microsoft 365 Desktop
- Office 365 Desktop
- MS-Office 365 Desktop
- Microsoft Windows 365 Remote Desktop Professional Plus Client for <platform> <-- hey, localizers need work, too.
- Work at Home Client (or WFH Client)
- MS WFH Client (maybe include some kind of internet proxy for WAN customers?)
- MS WFH Windows Desktop
- Skype Desktop Viewer <- resuscitate a brand you effectively killed through neglect?
- Microsoft Netmeeting Desktop <- LOL
I could go on...for pages, trust me. I'm a prolific name-generator and I'm not even half trying (as evidenced by my joke names here).
But seriously..."Windows App"?!?
