One of the most noticeable changes in Windows Autopatch is the new, forthcoming simplified update management interface.
Some great additions, though I find myself asking why F3 wasn't included from the start. Seems like an obvious omission. Many orgs have a combination of E3 and F3, and expecting them to maintain two separate update management policies was going to be a nightmare. Not least of all because our licensing is user based through the M365 license, yet the policy targets are device based. I was not relishing the prospect of having to try and marry up users to specific devices, and manual keep those target groups up to date.
For the specific quote above, do we have a rough definition of what the word "forthcoming" means in this context? I've been waiting for "forthcoming" updates to the M365 Apps Admin Centre to deliver the new Cloud Update feature to my org for nearly a year, and I still don't have them despite the general availability date of Mid-November coming and going, and meeting the eligibility criteria. I hope AutoPatch updates don't suffer from the same glacial pace of release as M365 Cloud Update.
