Hey again Jason_Sandys ,
thanks for your explanation, but:
I cannot believe this version-mess on downloading cannot be handled better.
How does MS-Store exactly know which of those I need?
How did MS-Store-for-Business could provide the "Drop-Down" Box for selecting the Windows-Version to get exactly the latest file I need?
winget download misses an "--for-windows-build=19045" argument to conceptionally handle this correct. Without such an argument winget could just provide a bunch of files for different windows-builds.
Regarding to the missing Versions with winget: Sorry, but this was NOT a temporary issue with just one app.
This issue that the latest needed Win10-compatible version was not provided by winget I faced for about a third of the In-Box-Apps.
Took me half of a day to try and retry and check out and finally load from third party site... so this was not a "temporary" thing only for one app but it was mid of july not working and I re-evaluated this on 30 july when I wrote my first comment here in this thread above. Glad it has gone for Windows Alarms today ... we will see if it has gone for the other apps too. No time now to check this in detail, but definitely will check when I have to offline-service my air-gapped-devices again soon.
And I again ask you, what I should "fill in in feedback hub". What should I tell? "Dear App-Developer, I cannot download your latest Version X via winget, only get four month older version Y via winget and the winget-folks tell me it is your fault but nobody tells what exactly is the fault and should be made better!?" ... sorry, but that sounds childish to me. As YOU thankfully very bold provide the opinion that this is the developers fault or ms-store fault but not winget-fault you certainly can explain what the problem is to the ms-store and at least one app-developer to check out what those two parties would have to improve or fix. I cannot tell them, because I can just demonstrate the problem but have no insight on who's fault it is or why the needed latest version is not provided or why a bunch of old versions are provided.
