Something super confusing just happened.
Late last week our store app on all devices started throwing errors.. Now, we lock the store down to the private store only, and through troubleshooting I found that the public store was accessible (if that policy was removed). So, I logged a support case with Microsoft.
I was just informed this morning that our experience is expected due to the removal of the private store tab from the store app..
I replied with a screenshot from the store from business portal which has a note that the store for business retirement has been postponed.
The support engineer replied that the original plan for retirement was March 31, now postponed to May.
Now, doesn't the removal of the private store tab from the store app effectively retire the store, since our users can no longer access it? We may just have to unblock it in the interim and expedite Intune enrolment for our legacy fleet. I assume this will allow us to once again manage these apps and prevent installation of unwanted apps. This is terrible, since so many Microsoft articles had statements like "stay tuned" and "watch this space". We were hesitant to make changes when things were still evolving.
