9 weeks away till MSfB is retired. Only a few weeks till we need to have any change management submitted to get it in place before the retirement. I still have some questions.
- this document is about 6 months old, is there a later update somewhere?
- Where do I go to read the documentation about the new processes? MECM deployment of store apps, controlling access to applications, configuring our onprem store, how to make the move from MSfB to windows store, how to set up Windows package manager for use on both Windows store and onprem store via MECM etc.
- Our store is disabled by Group Policy because we use MSfB, what happens now?
- Do we uninstall the store from our machines as once MSfB shuts down, there will be no apps in our store app or do we need to remove the policy that blocks Microsoft store and block all applications except those we allow some other way?
- Do we need to do anything in MSfB before it is retired? - clean out anything that is in there for example.
- Do we no longer use store at all and do all deployments through MECM/software center somehow?
- The MECM wizard for store doesn't work which I'm assuming is part of this process, will that get updated at some point to use WPM or some other process?
- Will we need to upgrade our MECM install to a particular version to support the new setup and get a store application deployment option that works?
- Do we need to do something with Windows Package Manager to get that working/installed?
We use MECM, not intune, so personally, I only need info regarding the store/MECM, but I'd think others will be interested in the Intune and Intune/MECM combination configs as well.
