Seeing as we are already in Q4 2022, when can we expect to see the "required" method of assignment populating into Intune for Microsoft Store apps?
Either a bunch of our apps from the MSfB store (still set for Q1 2023 shutdown) are going to break one day, or that feature is going to be launched with no turn around time for admins like myself to configure, test and launch the new setup.
I've done all that I can and sure hope it's enough or we are SOL on behalf of Microsoft's false promises.

And finally, all the enterprise capabilities of Endpoint Manager continue to be fully integrated with the Store content. Assign scope tags to the applications you choose for role-based access controls. Assign these apps to any number of Azure AD based user and device groups. Choose your method of assignment, whether that be required, available, or uninstall. You will also be able to control access to Store content overall as you have in the past.
