Bryan Keller Joe_Lurie Afternoon, still slightly confused as to the future of msfb and app updates.
Current Situation: Our enterprise is not co-manage at all and we utilize a combinations of MECM and Group Policy to deploy applications and control the Microsoft Store for Business.
Concerns:
- Once the msdb goes away how do we lock down the wide open application store for Windows 10 and 11? We want to prevent users from installing random apps from the store.
- If I disable the Microsoft Store altogether will this stop the updating of built in applications such as calculator, photos, and other apps?
- co-management
- If we do not co-manage our devices... do we just disable the store altogether? From what I as reading MECM is that the Microsoft Store for Business connector in MECM is going away.
- Would we then need to manually package those applications for deployment with MECM?
- Company Portal
- Since the company portal can publish apps from MECM and Intune. Will Software Center go away as well?
- Can the company portal Uninstall applications and repair applications?
- Will the company portal allow OS installs and Microsoft Updates being deployed via MECM to be shown?
