We have had several users using Windows App off and on for many months and they all end up going back to Remote Desktop Client app out of frustration. We kept hoping there would be big improvements in the Windows App before we had to start using it, but none of the feedback that has been shared has been integrated. First - why are the icons/tiles so large? We have a couple dozen hostpools/workspaces defined with some users having up to 40+ remote applications in them - the scrolling that is needed to find a remote application from the correct workspace is crazy. Can there not be an option to make these smaller (look at the size of the remote desktop client app icons)? Favorites and filtering help some, but the added scrolling up and down to change the filters back and forth isn't ideal. The list view does not help this. If you collapse workspaces for the Apps, and then go to Favorites or Devices, when you come back to Apps, they are expanded again. So visually and user friendliness of the Windows App has a long way to go based on feedback from our users. Also, when connecting/logging on to a remote app, instead of showing the workspace that the application is from, it shows a guid or such - which means nothing to a user and then if you have multiple remote apps open that look the same, you can no longer hover over/right click to see which workspace the remote app is being run from - simple example - having Edge or file explorer open from multiple workspaces and having different userids being used or different environments being accessed - you cannot tell which is which now. In addition, connecting to remote applications or devices is much slower than Remote Desktop client. We have launched similar remote applications from each and Remote Desktop client connects faster. We do have simple users that only use a few remote applications and only have access to a couple of workspaces and can favorite the remote applications they use and have had less issues, but those who use many different remote applications, workspaces, and/or desktops (devices), our heavy users, do not like using the Windows App. With the end of March getting closer, we are concerned about keeping our users working efficiently. We had hoped for an improved experience for our users, but the Windows App hasn't provided that. Hoping the Remote Desktop Client app will continue to work beyond the end of March date. I think if Microsoft listens to users' feedback, they will realize the Windows App is not ready to replace the Remote Desktop client app yet.
