I had that problem too on a 9th generation Intel i7 that Microsoft said would be 'compatible', Like you I worry how many can afford to splash out on a new PC, They seem to think we are all rich!
I am just telling more people to make a move to Linux Mint or Ubuntu. Both of them will likely support older PCs for years to come and free to install. Yes, it's a bit of a learning curve but means you don't feel pushed by Microsoft to go into debt buying a new PC.
I think Microsoft should drop the system requirements but they won't till it hits them in the pocket with less people running Windows 11 and then Windows 12 which will mean even tougher requirements.
The tech world is getting into a bit o0f a mess and the top managers at Microsoft have lost touch with real people.
