After experimenting with this for a little over a week, I'm generally excited for the solution, and machines are applying updates and bios with no reported issues. My feedback at this point is:
- The telemetry feedback is very slow, and I'd like to see that improved significantly.
- The driver review needs to include the model. In a mixed machine profile, it's impossible to tell what BIOS matches with what model. I've moved to machine specific policies via dynamic group to overcome this.
- I'd like to see the profiles reengineered to include their own deployment rings. For example, I'd create profiles per machine type e.g., Dell Optiplex 7090, then designate department groups into rings within that profile e.g., IT machines are early adopters, finance always last, etc.
- Need an overview in each profile. It seems odd that most other intune items have an overview page, but for this, you must jump over to reports to see what is happening.
- Reports
- Please make columns such as Update State, Update Aggregated Status, and Update Substate sortable. It would be a lot faster to report out everything, then sort by say "update state" to see the status of those.
- Ability to report on policy vs driver as the same driver could show up in multiple policies. Policy is sortable, so this would be a nice to have vs there being no workaround.
