I know 2003 is no longer "LTS" but it doesn't mean MS has the right to break backward compatibility.
I agree they should secure things moving forward, but if they can keep DOS and VB6 app running they can keep printing too...
rocifier I will admit our corporation has been slowly trying to upgrade our smaller sites and servers, but we are not finished and still have 30 2003 servers left in our domain mainly doing "File and Print". What's my "rep" going to do, go to South Africa, Singapore or Shanghai and help upgrade my server in lockdown!
They are not public, behind firewalls and agree they are a "risk" and need upgrading but to cripple printing is at our risk not theirs and they need to provide a way for Windows 10 to print to them as it did when we tested and began deployment.
If they really break my ability use Windows 10 with a 2003 servers I have to actually considering rolling these sites back to Windows 7 until I upgrade these servers. (Yea... read that again.. That bad!)
Again, I know this is "their forum" and I won't get schooled on what I can and can't say here... But this isn't the Microsoft I waited on line for Windows 95 or when calling 1800 426-4900 in the 90's somebody real answered!
