Hey, congratulations on launching a roadmap - I'm a huge fan of having that information available and following developments on software and games like this, probably very helpful for communication, community-building and early feedback.
Sadly, I'm really torn about your massively AI-focused path right now: Recall, Copilot, etc. - I'm sure some of you believe some of it is helpful for something and others are under a huge pressure to somehow justify the massive investment that has already been forced into everything that shines a bit AI-shaped, but I simply do not want it. I am so tired and disappointed in a constant push to make my operating system more and more "big data"-centered, where everything that goes through here somehow being strip-mined of data, archived and uploaded to your servers whenever possible. I dread and hate the idea of Recall, and I can't imagine how it'll be compatible with European Union laws or what hoops I'll have to go running around trying to send some daft GDPR data removal requests to try to prevent you from stealing my data into some LLM text prediction madness. I and a lot of my friends are under no other impression than that this AI stuff is only made towards shareholders and these features are pushed forcibly just to get access to more data as free feeding fodder both for updating prediction models and showing that the investment has been justified, and it just turns me off.
So, please, make that stuff clearly opt-in or at the very least offer clear and total opt-outs, and look for actual user value elsewhere whenever that becomes possible leadership-pressure-wise.
