I just gave the Weather app a 1 star rating because all of this is related, and on that note here's a copy of my review 🙂
Title : "Would be good if it didn't decide to add a bunch of useless widget on the lock screen"
Review : "For whatever reason Microsoft thought it would be pertinent to change "Weather" to "Weather and more" in the Lock screen settings... After losing my mind trying to remove the 'Markets', 'Traffic near you' and 'Trending in NHL' widgets (3 things I couldn't care less about), I finally realized this is caused by "Weather and more" selected for "Choose one app to show detailed status on the lock screen". Now my question is this, why is there no place to edit the "more"? I don't have words honestly this is absurd… reminds me from earlier this year of that unhinge massive online searchbox in Outlook right next to the actual mail searchbox, in the same column, taking the whole space. The way online forums were going off on that inexcusable mistake, once again forcing something new, no one asked for, without a way to remove it. For such an empire, the clear lack of testing before releasing is cringe. Even [this] release article from Mar 29th 2024 doesn't indicate a way to choose which widgets..."

Massive corporations showing once again how absolutely disconnected they are, it's tired. Also, whoever specifically decided to add that sport widget needs to be fired immediately because ew, the delusion is real. The **bleep**ed up part is all you'd have to do before changing something like this, something that will basically affect every Windows user, clearly as you only did it to this option, is to ask the community: Just create a poll on various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X...) and pull the results together, it's that simple. You would've quickly seen that probably, I'm sure most people wouldn't mind this new addition, but let us choose which widgets we want, come on. Like others in these comments, I've now just put "None", it took me a minute to figure out this was the cause, but even if you were to change it soon, it's too late. It's completely baffling this got approved in the first place with zero flexibility, because if all you wanted to do is test the waters... mama it's a flop. Get it together.
