DavidB2390 , building a bit more on what Hyugai said, In Update Rings, you can disable all "recommended" drivers from being deployed... and it's all or nothing. With the new drivers policy, you'll be able to manage individual drivers... including optional drivers. And then you'll get reporting for each approved driver. So, you get more granular control with the new policies.
Hyugai , not just Dell, Lenovo, and HP... essentially all drivers published to Windows Update. We've seen drivers from over 300 driver publishers in the Private Preview already.
ScrJeff , Windows Update uses a secure install method, so in most cases, as long as the driver publisher has followed the guidelines, don't need the password to update. That was tested quite a bit in the private preview and seems to work smoothly.
And, soon = as soon as we can sign off on quality. We are in the last stages of validation and bug fixing (I'm in a meeting discussing these items as I type this!).
