Hi Greg_C_Gilbert ,
>>I hope the CSP documentation coming soon means days or weeks and not months.
Should be weeks (at most).
>>To reiterate, GPOs and CSPs or preferably Settings Catalog capabilities should be released at the same time.
>> Or CSP/Settings Catalog should come first if it's a resource constraint since that is the preferred path Microsoft is trying to sell everyone on
In a perfect world, sure, but this is not how Insider builds work. Insider builds are always a bit rough, and it's not possible to deliver all of the pieces at the same time. Just to set expectations: updating the Intune settings catalog will not likely happen for months. I urge anyone who wants that to happen earlier to make your opinion known to the Intune team (they are colleagues but I don't work on that team).
Alternatively, you can of course just ignore the Insider build(s) until all of the associated docs and Intune settings catalog come online. But you would lose your chance to offer feedback and possibly influence the final shape of these features. For my part, I always prefer to get stuff out there as soon as possible.
I already commented on the backport issue earlier. These are brand new features that publicly dropped just three days ago. And now we're talking about backporting already. Wow. 🙂
