JaySimmons : I never had to copy ADMX/ADML from C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions to our integrated
C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions before.
I got curious and I found only a small number of ADMX files that are newer on a DC compared to sysvol. Were we always supposed to copy these manually to sysvol after updating servers or is this a bug in the current LAPS implementation? I really never heard of this before as a task to be done after updates.
Newer Files on DC compared to sysvol:
04/12/2022 11:52 AM 35,759 StartMenu.admx
04/12/2022 11:53 AM 15,612 DeviceInstallation.admx
04/12/2022 11:53 AM 13,326 Printing2.admx
04/12/2022 11:54 AM 101,266 WindowsUpdate.admx
06/17/2022 08:07 AM 86,938 WindowsDefender.admx
07/19/2022 12:46 PM 29,481 Printing.admx
02/21/2023 03:04 PM 1,715,144 inetres.admx
04/14/2023 11:04 AM 9,734 LAPS.admx
All other files are from 2020 or 2018 and have the same date or are older than the files on sysvol.
So generally it seems that new ADMX files are deployed correctly to sysvol (eg tcpip.admx on DC is from 9/15/2018, while the same file on sysvol is from 12/7/2019).
