I continue to be disappointed by Viva products. A lot of overpromising and underdelivering. Feels more like an underfunded startup is running the product team rather than the biggest software company in the world.
Case in point, Microsoft Viva Glint. It is in General Availability status, yet setting up an instance takes DAYS, requires weird hoops to jump through in order to request an instance, and guess what doesn't have any integration into Glint? Azure AD!
Making a native MS cloud solution that is intended to deploy surveys to your internal workforce (who are mostly all on AZAD/Entra) and then asking the admins to import CSVs rather than just auto syncing groups into Viva is table stakes for a survey tool.
We have tried survey tools that cost 10 bucks a month that have this capability. Given the power of the MS Graph endpoints, it is really inexcusable to sell this product. Call it beta, that is what it is, this is nowhere close to a GA product.
Whether it's discovering that Viva Goals absolutely cannot keep a connection to Power BI or an MS SQL database alive (thus making KPI driven OKRs useless), or whether it's discovering that even the support team at Viva can't delete an organization, or whether it's the completely non-functional Slack integration in Goals.... The entire Viva product suite is a dumpster fire. Stay away.
