ZoomIt v7.0

This update to ZoomIt, a screen magnification and annotation tool, adds the ability to screen record cropped regions or a specific window, and lets you snip regions of the screen or zoomed views to the clipboard or to a file in a single gesture.

Is there a download link for v7?  The only version I can find is v8, and I need v7.

    Thanks

  • When I started ZoomIt 7.2, I got the message

"Error starting recording: deviceID is a required parameter"

Sounds strange, bad has a simple reason:

I activated on Tab "Record" the Option "Capture audio input", but there was no microphone plugged in ..

So please create a more clear message.

Alex_Mihaiuc   thank you for the updates to Zoomit. I use this nice utility quite a bit.

One thing I would like to see change is the direction of arrow that is drawn with Ctrl+Shift. I think it is more natural to draw the arrow from the straight-end to the arrowhead. Currently it starts at the arrowhead.

Is it possible to add an option to reverse the drawing of the arrow?

    1. When draw over desktop (W10 22H2 x64 + 7.0 x64) a straight line, rectangle, ellipse, arrow, the temporary line is not of the chosen color.
If I draw over any other program window opened, the temporary line it's OK.

    2. If you start drawing mode and draw something, after you press Esc, the drawing mode is closing with no prompt and you lose what you draw.
I propose to add a dialog when exiting draw mode for asking to save the drawing.

    Thank you

Wouldn't it have been better to limit the features of Zoomit - a wonderful and exceptional utility that was missing and for which we will be grateful for eternity - to the ones it was initially designed for? I love Zoomit because it's lightweight and fast, although even in version 6.12 there were still some minor bugs, when switching between different modes (nothing that returning to the standard 1X zoom or repeated presses of the ESC key can't solve, but anyway)... Adding more features that may already be present and tested in other open-source programs (ShareX? OBS?), thus making the application heavier and possibly introducing other bugs, instead of focusing on making the application even more functional and bug-free in its essential features, seems really mean-spirited to me... I'm not sure if I'll install version 7.0, in fact, especially because it assumes a series of 7.xx versions due to the refinement of new features that I'm not interested in. What a pity  😞

Thanks for the updates to Zoomit.

Sadly, I'm missing the ability to set a bitrate for screen recording.

I had a really low bitrate that ensured quick screen recordings were immediately small enough to attach to most companies' support desks (<15MB).  This is now no-longer the case, meaning I have to get a bit of a workflow going to resample them.  The scaling option does help somewhat thought.

    Kind Regards.

  • Hey Tomasz,

there's none, but this is something we can add. Thanks for bringing it up!

    Hello,

I'm not sure where to put the feedback .

I'm using graphical tablet for drawing, and there is a small inconvenience when using ZoomIt and have Windows Ink enabled.

In Windows Ink mode the pointer is missing so I need to switch to mouse mode.

Is there any option to show the pointer when Windows Ink is enabled?

    Best regards
