Ryan Woll HaraldRau I think it actually depends on what status you tenant is in. We do alot of work with Surface Hubs and have multiple test / production tenants. Our current findings are If the tenant has fully migrated to OneDrive for whiteboard then you will lose the ability to start/generate a shared whiteboard from your Surface Hub. If your tenant has not fully migrated over you will still see the ability to start a whiteboard.
In message centre for new whiteboard experience this is explained by the fact that Easy Share is not available any longer which is how the Surface Hub shared in the first place.
- Easy share on Surface Hub using device account – This will no longer be available, instead you must sign in before sharing a whiteboard.
In our case one tenant migrated and the other one did not so we can compare the behaviour.
So in the cases above i believe Ryan's tenant has migrated but Harald's has not.
