So.. odd thing about that.
The Surface 8 and later have a different type cover which includes a charging bin for the pen. When you snap it up against the screen, the normal way to use it, it actually covers a bit of the taskbar making it almost impossible for some to hit icons with their finger. I have nerve damage that makes it harder for me to control fine movement in my hands and this is beyond annoying.
In Win10, this is trivial, you make the taskbar bigger... something you can't do in Win11...
When you detach the cover, you lose the taskbar entirely and now have to swipe up AND tap the taskbar icon you want, again making things more difficult. Win10 just left everything alone (seriously, no one learned anything from the "tablet mode" debacle of Win8?)
Also, since the screen is wider than tall, it makes more sense to put the taskbar to the left or right to maximize vertical space which again, we can't do anymore. (top or bottom works fine in portrait mode - but the SP8 moved the power button to the side, which becomes the bottom in portrait, so tendency to turn off the device by accident... well done!)
So yeah... way better /s
If there was any way I could install Win10 on my SP8, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
