MicrosoftI have been doing some testing and ran across a weird issue that I hope someone at Microsoft can explain. I am noticing little differences with the number of pages in the procedure cache currently allocated to the process from [sys].[sysprocesses], and what's in the DMV [sys].[dm_exec_query_memory_grants] and granted to that process. If you do the math taking the pages x 8 this appears to be different in some cases then what the memory grant DMV sys.dm_exec_query_memory_grants is reporting. Any idea which is correct? Top using new DMV, bottom old sys.sysprocesses
